If You don't Like it... Do something about it!

I do not like my arms!!! My arms and waist are my "My problem areas"! I understand that you can't really target certain areas on your body that you want to change. I get that. Like that isn't lost on me. But I will try to add more arm reps to my daily workout routine. Although I have lost 2 inches in my arm I feel like considering the time that I have been working out I can see more progress.

I love my body but I have always had a mental problem with my arms. This month I will do a 21 day Challenge arm workout. My goal is to strengthen and tone my arms.

The moves I will use:
Bicep Curls
Upright Row
Triceps Kickback
Overhead Shoulder Press
Bent-Over Reverse Fly

I'll update with weekly progress. And also input the reps that I use day by day. My way of holding myself accountable. And hopefully this is something that can help someone else.

Simple, Quick & Easy Stir-Fry

Monday Woes...
Trying to find a simple meal on a Monday is sometimes a struggle when you're looking for something different. I haven't eaten very much seafood over the past 11 years but I thought I would try something new tonight and I know that shrimp are pretty simple to cook.

This was quick and easy! It was a major hit with the kids! #winning  This has to be added to the list of go-to meals!! A great way to get in a good dose of veggies! Any way to get the kids to get in their Veggies is a win all around for me! Especially when my son would rather eat meat all day and wouldn't touch vegetables with a 20 foot pole normally. Guess what!?!! He did tonight!! :)

So this is how I got this delicious meal together!!
1/2 cup of green onions
1 tbsp of Olive Oil
1 tbsp of Coconut Oil
3 tbsp of Original Teriyaki Sauce

Prep-
Wash & Chop Veggies
Rinse and season shrimp as desired (I used onion & garlic powder and pepper)

-Heat oil in Large Pan or Skillet on Medium high. I used olive oil and coconut oil because I love coconut oil. I defintely love the smell of the coconut oil! (I use coconut oil for everything... My hair, my skin, my food, and my dog! lol Can never go wrong with the coconut oil)
-Cook shrimp until pink. Remove Shrimp and set aside. Make sure to use a slotted spoon so that the oil and juice stay in the pan to saute the Veggies.
-Saute Garlic, Zucchini, Onions, Bell pepper and green onions until tender. Add in one by one so that the veggies have time to shrink so they can all fit.
-Add Broccoli cook for 5 mins stir continuously
-Return shrimp and add teriyaki sauce. Salt and Pepper if desired. I do not use salt so I just sprinkled on pepper.

In the future I will be sure to meal prep these Veggies to make it an even faster process. I did serve this on white rice but I plan on using Brown rice the next time I prepare this.

If you try this leave me a comment let me know how you enjoyed it!!!

That NSV!!!

It takes time. Be Patient it will happen over time. Good things come to those who wait. AM I the only person who doesn't want to hear this when I am going through something? I understand that it takes time. Or well I thought that I did. And then I started working out. I would workout and get upset at not being able to make it through an entire minute without getting winded.  I would workout and weigh myself right afterwards. No Progress. Well Duh! I was not giving myself time to appreciate my journey. The small accomplishments that come from continuing day after day. I began to become frustrated with myself and I had to take a step back and look at what I was doing. The stress of not seeing change was not helping me along at all.

I expressed my concerns and frustrations to my coach and she said "Girl, this is not going to happen over night! Keep working hard! Keep eating right. Give it time you will see improvement." I wasn't sure and at that time I was ready to throw the towel in like I had done many times before. But instead I gave myself time and kept busting my behind for thirty minutes a day!

After time I began to allow myself to appreciate the small things I was improving. Instead of having to modify certain moves I began to do them without modification. I would do Burpees (a move I hate!!!) with no problems.

I was so encouraged! Over time I was no longer running to the scale. I began to look for those small NSV (Non-scale Victories). Working out was something that I began to look forward to even with knowing that there were no Quick Results in my future!!!
And this gets me through Everyday!!!
